No:116/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the event and exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran
On March 14, 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event and exhibition on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ambassador and staff of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the heads of several companies operating in Azerbaijan.
The event began with the national anthems of both countries.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov said that the existing historical ties, common values and traditions between Azerbaijan and Iran created conditions for the development of bilateral relations. The Deputy Minister stressed that as a result of the 44-day war, Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity, including the Azerbaijani-Iranian border, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called the border between the two countries a friendly border. E.Mammadov noted that the opening of transport and communication lines in the region during the post-conflict period will contribute to peace and development in the region.
Speaking later, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyed Abbas Mousavi conveyed his sincere congratulations on the establishment of diplomatic relations between friendly, brotherly and neighboring Azerbaijan and Iran. The Ambassador also paid tribute to the martyrs who died during the 44-day war to ensure the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Seyed Abbas Mousavi noted with satisfaction the extensive cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran within international organizations, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
At the end of the event, the participants got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
