On March 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan, held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the telephone conversation, strong protest was expressed regarding the missile attack carried out yesterday by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of Türkiye, as well as the drone attack conducted today against the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was emphasized that such attacks are unacceptable.
It was underlined that these attacks violate the norms and principles of international law and contribute to increased tensions in the region.
It was noted during the call that, in order to ensure safety, flights to Nakhchivan will be temporarily operated via Igdir Airport.
During the telephone conversation, the ministers emphasized the importance of continuing coordination efforts stemming from the strategic alliance between the two countries.
