No:050/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting between the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On February 12, 2021, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting in the format of a video conference with the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, accredited in foreign countries and to international organizations. The meeting was also attended by deputy foreign ministers, ambassadors-at-large, and heads of structural divisions of the Foreign Ministry.

Opening the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the multi-vector foreign policy activities carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, based on the national interests of our state, including priorities and new challenges, the development of bilateral and multilateral relations. The conference participants were provided with detailed information about the active foreign policy pursued by our country, despite the new challenges that the world faced last year, the development of cooperation relations with all states by organizing priorities with neighboring states, initiatives put forward on a global scale, our active participation in international organizations and other issues.

Particular attention was paid to the new realities and geopolitical situation in the region after the victory in the Patriotic War, which lasted 6 weeks, achieved as a result of the military operations of Azerbaijan, conducted in response to the next military provocation of Armenia on September 27, 2020. It was stressed that the implementation of the trilateral statements of November 10, 2020, and January 11, 2021, serves peace, security, and progress in the region. The importance of the activities of our diplomatic missions in the field of consistent and effective communication of the truth about Azerbaijan, as well as the situation in the region to the world community, was noted.

During the video conference, the heads of our diplomatic missions exchanged views on the main events to be held during the year, a number of administrative and organizational issues, as well as personnel issues. The proposals of our diplomatic missions on the effective implementation of the foreign policy course in the new realities were heard.

The participants noted the importance of online meetings in terms of providing information and coordination and agreed to continue such consultations in the future.
