No: 73/17, Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran had an exchange of congratulatory letters on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries
Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran had an exchange of congratulatory letters on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In the letter addressed to his counterpart Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, characterized by shared historical, cultural and religious values, are successfully growing in all spheres of life and an exchange of visits between the Heads of States, meetings of high dignitaries of two countries as well as mutual support demonstrated in regional and international fora substantially boosted up our relations.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov expressed his gratitude for the principled stand of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that is supporting the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He also expressed his conviction that the successful cooperation between our two countries under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Mr. Hassan Rouhani and the fraternal Azerbaijan-Iran ties will be further developed based on good neighborhood, mutual trust and understanding in the future ahead.
In his letter addressed to Elmar Mammadyarov Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif noted that in the light of efforts made by authorities of the two countries, relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have remarkably been expanded in all areas during the past 25 years.
Mohammad Javad Zarif stated that the seven visits exchanged by presidents of the two countries in the recent years are indicative of the firm will of Azerbaijan and Iran to further expand their relations.
Noting the deep cultural and historical bonds between Azerbaijan and Iran, Foreign Minister of Iran expressed his conviction that our bilateral ties will continue to further grow in favor of the two nations’ interests and establishment of sustainable peace in the region.
