No: 21/17, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Vincent Cochetel, UN Commissariat for Refugees (UNHCR) Director of the Bureau for Europe
At the meeting minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that the humanitarian assistance provided by the UNHCR to the refugees and internally displaced persons of Azerbaijan and the cooperation between the organization and our country is highly appreciated.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov briefly informed his counterpart about demining and construction works carried out in the liberated village Jojugmarjanli and the measures taken for the return of internally displaced persons in accordance with the the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He stressed that the efforts by the Government of Azerbaijan to improve the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons will further be continued.
Vincent Cochetel expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between UNHCR and Azerbaijan. He commended the changes in the rules for the funding of NGOs by foreign donors as positive case.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on prospects of cooperation between the UNHCR and Azerbaijan and the current issues on the agenda.
