Minister Elmar Mammadyarov recieved the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov recieved the delegation headed by Herbet Salber, European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus.
During the meeting the sides discussed the issues related to further promotion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and European Union and EU-Azerbaijan strategic partnership on energy.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the entry into force of the EU - Azerbaijan Visa Facilitation and the Readmission agreements and emphasized that these agreements contribute to enhancing of contacts in science, education, culture, tourism and business spheres.
Herbert Salber stressed the role of Azerbaijan in energy security of Europe.
At the meeting views were also exchanged on the negotiation process towards the resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov noted the deliberate provocative actions of Armenia to escalate the situation and emphasized that for the resolution of conflict, first and foremost, the armed forces of Armenia, must be withdrawn from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
