Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received a delegation headed by Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Georgia
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that national leader of Azerbaijani nation Heydar Aliyev played a significant role in establishment and development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia during the period of independence of both countries. Talking about historical and traditional bonds of friendship between Azerbaijani and Georgian nations Elmar Mammadyarov underlined that strategic partnership relations are continuously being developed in all fields of cooperation in accordance with political will of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Furthermore, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also highlighted exemplary cooperation of Azerbaijan and Georgia in realization of large scale energy and transport projects.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili expressed his satisfaction on his first ever visit as Foreign Minister to Azerbaijan and comprehensive development in all fields of strategic cooperation as well as growth in trade turn over. He said that Azerbaijan has been and remains a reliable partner of Georgia and expressed his assurance in jointly fulfillment of new projects.
Arrangement of mutual high level visits, enhancement of treaty-law base and other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
