Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Raşid Meredov, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan
On August 28, 2015 Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Raşid Meredov, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, within the trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan in Antalya.
Foreign Ministers exchanged views on the issues of interest related to the bilateral and multilateral ties. Satisfaction on development of political dialogue and enhancement of cooperation range between two countries were expressed at the meeting.
Meantime, the significant increase of trade turnover in recent years between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was noted as a positive tendency. Ministers also pointed out the favorable environment for development of economic-trade relations in accordance with rich potential of both countries through the mutual efforts.
The important role of Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation for comprehensive development of relations between two countries was also underlined.
Characterizing Caspian Sea as a wealth connecting the two countries, Ministers mentioned that relationship on energy and transport has also developed in recent years.
At the meeting the importance of holding trilateral meetings in a regular base with the participation of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan was stressed. Minsters also added that these meetings contribute to the development of cooperation on the field of political issues, economy, trade, energy, transportation and humanitarian spheres among three countries.
Issues of mutual interest on regional and international matters also discussed within the meeting.
