Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Nikola Poposki, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Nikola Poposki, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia on the sidelines of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly on September 29, 2015.
At the meeting the sides noted their satisfaction with the development level of political dialogue between the two countries. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan attaches special emphasis to its relations with Balkan countries.
The sides stressed the importance of developing economical-trade relations and legal-treaty base in the spirit of bilateral political relations.
The sides also underlined vast potential for development of cooperation in energy, agriculture and humanitarian fields between Azerbaijan and Macedonia.
The Ministers noted the importance of cooperation and mutual support between the two countries within the UN and other international organizations.
Giving a brief information about the realization of South Gas Corridor, Shahdeniz II project and the construction of TAP and TANAP projects, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov underlined that within these projects new job and investment opportunities will be opened in the countries from where the pipeline will run, regional cooperation will develop as well as gas supplies will be ensured through diversified source.
At the meeting the sides exchanged their views on regional issues of mutual interest.
