Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Mohamed Orabi, chairman of Foreign Relations Committee of Egyptian Parliament, former Minister of Foreign Affairs
At the meeting, the sides exchanged their views on the level of bilateral relations and opportunities of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt. Noting that there are historical and traditional ties between the two countries, they stressed the importance of making joint efforts to further strengthen this relationship.
Mohamed Orabi said that the Baku International Humanitarian Forum is very important in terms of discussing the issues related to the most challenging problems of the modern world.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the close cooperation and mutual support within the international organizations, particularly in the framework of the UN and the OIC.
They also touched upon the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and emphasized the necessity of expanding cooperation in this direction.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov briefed about the latest status on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. He underscored that our country highly appreciates Egypt’s support on Azerbaijan’s fair stance on the resolution of the conflict.
During the meeting the issues such as crisis in the Middle East, migration problem, fighting against terrorism and other international and regional matters were also discussed.
