Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Michael Link, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Michael Link, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights on the sidelines of the 22nd OSCE Ministerial Council held in Belgrade on December 3, 2015.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov noted that refusal of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights to observe the parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan on November 1, 2015, is contrary to its mandate. He emphasized that despite of Azerbaijan’s logical and constructive calls for cooperation such action taken by the Office puts under question its independency and impartiality.
Minister highlighted the importance of investigating the principles and methodology based on which the Office exhibited such an unconstructive attitude.
Noting that the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights is interested and stands ready for cooperation with all OSCE Member States, Michael Link stressed that the Office will continue to intensify its efforts in this regard.
