Appeal by Martin Staudinger, correspondent of “Profil” magazine of Austria on his illegal visit to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan
A citizen of Austria, correspondent of “Profil” magazine Martin Staudinger who made an illegal visit to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan addressed an official letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asking for not adding his name into the “List of Foreign citizens illegally visited to occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
In his letter Martin Staudinger reaffirmed his full respect to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan within its internationally recognized borders and stressed that his visit to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan does not imply the lack of respect to the fact that according to the international law those territories are part of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Noting his awareness that the state of Azerbaijan considers this visit illegal, he expressed his apology for that.
The appeal by Martin Staudinger, including his status as media representative was considered and it was decided not to add his name into the list.
