Distorting and one-sided statement made by the US Embassy in Armenia on September 23, 2022 to the Public TV of Armenia is deeply regrettable.
We urge the US Embassy to take a responsible position on such sensitive issues and refrain from unilateral statements favoring Armenia.
Such an approach encourages the revanchist and separatist circles in Armenia, increases tension in the region, and thus does not serve to advance the peace agenda in the region.
This kind of position overshadows the neutrality and impartiality of the United States trying to play a role in the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
