No:191/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf

On 30 April 2024, within the framework of his working visit to the State of Qatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov extended his congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria this year.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation within international organizations, particularly the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and emphasized the importance of continuing mutual support for candidacies and initiatives within these frameworks.
The parties also highlighted the importance of developing relations in the energy sector and other areas, noting in this regard the significance of high-level visits and political consultations.
The Minister further underlined the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary relations and commended the visit of members of the Algeria–Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group to Azerbaijan on 22–25 April this year.
The sides emphasized the importance of bilateral relations in the energy sector and the need to further expand cooperation in this direction.
It was noted that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by Azerbaijan this year, creates favorable opportunities for new areas of cooperation.
The meeting also included discussions on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
