No:189/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Alexander Schallenberg
On May 26, 2021, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Alexander Schallenberg.
Ministers exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of reviving bilateral economic cooperation and business ties in the post-pandemic period.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the history of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the decades-long aggressive policy of Armenia, counter-offensive measures of Azerbaijan in response to Armenian provocations and ensuring the territorial integrity of the country by liberating the territories from occupation. He briefed his counterpart on the reconstruction and rehabilitation works carried out in the liberated areas during the post-conflict period. The opportunities created by the new situation in the region for regional cooperation were discussed.
It was noted that by eliminating the occupation, Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia on the basis of strict adherence to such principles of international law as the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Ministers also discussed cooperation within the international organizations and other issues of mutual interest.
