No:169/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Azerbaijan
On April 8, 2022, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid presented a copy of his credentials to the Minister.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his work. Expressing confidence that he will spare no effort to contribute to the development of friendly relations between the two countries during his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that the Azerbaijani side is also ready to contribute to this cooperation.
Expressing satisfaction with his appointment as Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid said that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt was successfully implemented in a number of areas, including economy, tourism, etc. He said he would spare no effort to further develop existing relations.
The sides exchanged views on the development of historical and traditional friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt, expansion of cooperation in economy, science and education, energy, tourism, air transport and other fields.
The sides noted with satisfaction the close cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement, and stressed the importance of further expanding this cooperation.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his counterpart on the post-conflict situation in the region, the implementation of trilateral statements and steps taken by Azerbaijan in this regard, as well as demining and reconstruction work in the liberated areas. The Minister also shared Azerbaijan's views on the future peaceful development of the region.
Reminding that Egypt has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid wished Azerbaijan success in its restoration and reconstruction work, noting that Egyptian companies are interested in reconstruction projects in the liberated territories.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid presented congratulatory letters on behalf of the Egyptian leadership to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Mutual agreement was expressed to continue political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
