No:162/24, Press release on the working visit of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev to Greece

From 10 to 12 April, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fariz Rzayev, paid a working visit to Greece.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev participated in panel discussions on the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP) at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum.
In his speech, F. Rzayev spoke about the preparations and ongoing work for COP29 to be held in Azerbaijan in November 2024, as well as the steps taken in Azerbaijan in the field of environmental protection and the development of alternative energy sources. F. Rzayev also informed that the territories liberated from occupation have been declared green energy zones, and that the energy needs of the region, including settlements being rebuilt based on the “smart city” and “smart village” concepts, are being met through green energy.
Within the framework of the visit, F. Rzayev also held meetings with government officials and members of parliament of Greece. During the meetings, views were exchanged on the current state and development prospects of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as on issues on the regional and international agenda.
