On 12 March, the Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis, made a phone call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
The Ministers exchanged views on international and regional security issues, as well as on the current situation in the Middle East.
Emphasizing that further escalation of the existing tensions is unacceptable, the importance of resolving the crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means was noted.
The Swiss Minister expressed his solidarity with our country regarding the drone attack carried out by Iran against our country. He also expressed his gratitude to our country for the support provided in the evacuation of Swiss citizens from the territory of Iran.
During the phone call, the sides also discussed the current state and prospects for the development of the bilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Switzerland. Within this framework, the importance of the political consultations to be held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in April was emphasized.
