No:016/25, Press release on political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

On 22 January 2025, the next round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was held in the city of Baku.
The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while the delegation of Luxembourg was led by Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country Veronique Dockendorf.
During the consultations, relations in the political sphere between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg were discussed, and the importance of mutual visits and meetings within the framework of international events for maintaining continuous political dialogue was emphasized. Subsequently, discussions were held on the current state and prospects for development of cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, transport and humanitarian affairs, including within the framework of international organizations.
The importance of developing the relevant legal and contractual framework for expanding cooperation in various fields was noted.
Deputy Minister F. Rzayev spoke about our country’s climate diplomacy efforts, Azerbaijan’s presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as the achievements attained within the framework of the session.
At the meeting, detailed information was provided on the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, the steps taken by Azerbaijan towards the establishment of lasting peace in the region, the mine problem in our liberated territories, and the large-scale reconstruction and restoration works carried out there.
The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
