With ADB’s support, as part of a project for IDPs, the living conditions of more than 400 IDP families were improved, four schools restored, and IDPs, mostly women provided with small loans. More than 240,000 people have been protected from floods as part of the Flood Management Project. About 200 kilometres of new and improved highways and rural roads have been built, and about 350,000 people living in secondary cities have been provided with high-quality and reliable drinking water.

The 48th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors was held in Baku on the 1st to the 5th of May 2015.

Azerbaijan is also a member of the ADB’s Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Programme, through which ADB provides assistance to Azerbaijan in transport, energy, trade negotiations and other areas.

The partnership with ADB is governed by a 5-year country partnership strategy covering 2019-2023.
