Press-release by Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the appeal of Georgian citizen D.Turashvili about the removal of his name from the persona-non-grata list
David Turashvili, a Georgia citizen and writer who paid an illegal visit to the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan and violated the Law on “State Border” thereby was included into the persona-non-grata list compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made a written request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan to remove his name from the list.
At the letter David Turashvili noted that this visit was accidental and unintentional and it was not aimed at demonstrating a disrespect to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan. As an exemption he asks to annul the decision regarding inclusion of his name to the persona-non-grata list.
The appeal of David Turashvili has been reviewed in relevance with the procedures and it is decided to remove his name from the persona-non-grata list.
