No:591/22, Press release on the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Falih
On December 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with the delegation headed by the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Falih, co-chairman of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
At the meeting, the sides underlined the high-level of development of bilateral relations, and expressed satisfaction was with the extensive cooperation in trade-economic, investment, agriculture, energy, development of alternative energy resources and other fields.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov draw the attention of his counterpart to the fact that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the development of relations with friendly Saudi Arabia and the expansion of cooperation in various fields. Noting that, besides bilateral partnership between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, there is useful cooperation in regional and international formats, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov added that the two countries continue to support each other within the framework of a number of organizations. He stated that the support and fair position of Saudi Arabia regarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, especially within the framework of the UN and the OIC, is highly appreciated.
The minister noted the opportunities for cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture and tourism as priority areas of economic cooperation, and emphasized that our country has great potential for the development of alternative energy, especially wind energy. Successful organization of the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the importance of business forums between the two countries were also noted.
The large-scale restoration and reconstruction activities in the liberated territories and the possibilities of cooperation with Saudi Arabia in this direction were discussed.
Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Falih, during his visit to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan appreciated the work done and the achievements made. Noting that there are investors in Saudi Arabia who are interested in investing in our country's energy, especially "green energy", agriculture, eco-tourism, the minister brought to attention that Saudi Arabia attaches importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on issues on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and processes taking place at the regional level.
