No:589/22, Press release on the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev with the President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly Csaba Kőrösi
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev met with the President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, Csaba Kőrösi within the framework of his visit to New York.
At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on Azerbaijan's activities within the UN, cooperation with UN specialized agencies, directions for further activities and other issues on the agenda.
Deputy Minister informed the President of the General Assembly about the latest situation in the region, including the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories, landmine threats, as well as the steps taken by Azerbaijan towards the normalization of relations with Armenia. He stated that despite Armenia's provocations, Azerbaijan will continue its efforts in all important directions to ensure peace and stability in the region.
President of the UN General Assembly Csaba Kőrösi noted that Azerbaijan is one of the most active member states of the UN. Csaba Kőrösi commended the successful implementation of Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement. He noted that he highly appreciates the globally significant initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest on the UN agenda.
