No:577/22, Press release on the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Mr. João Gomes Cravinho
On December 12, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Mr. João Gomes Cravinho within his working visit to Belgium.

During the meeting, Ministers reviewed the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal and noted that there is potential for the development of various aspects of bilateral relations. During the meeting, Azerbaijan-European Union relations were also touched upon.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the wide potential for the development of economic, trade, and investment relations between the two countries at the level of bilateral relations. An exchange of views on issues related to energy security also took place.
Work carried out in the field of energy security, export of energy resources to Europe, and development of alternative energy resources, as well as its prospects in the aforementioned areas were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the current post-conflict situation in the region, the steps taken by Azerbaijan in the direction of peacebuilding in the region, the rehabilitation and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated areas, "green energy" projects, as well as brought to the attention the ongoing landmine threats.
Minister João Gomes Cravinho stated that his country is interested in deepening its cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
