No:510/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the roundtable discussions on the establishment of the International Turkish Language Day
On December 15, 2021, an online roundtable on the establishment of the International Turkish Language Day was held. The event was attended by representatives of the Organization of Turkic States and the National Commissions for UNESCO of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Türkiye, as well as government officials and scientists.
From the Azerbaijani side, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Prof. Dr. Hasan Hasanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Dr. Vilayat Guliyev, MP Prof. Dr. Nizami Jafarov, Ambassador-at-Large - Secretary General of the National Commission for UNESCO Dr. Seymur Fataliyev participated and spoke at the event.
During speeches, the importance of the initiative to establish the "International Turkish Language Day" for the Turkic-speaking states was emphasized and it was noted that Azerbaijan supports this initiative. It was also noted that it is important to continue the relevant measures for the consideration of this initiative in UNESCO and to mobilize the efforts of Turkic-speaking countries in this direction.
