No:485/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Ben Knapen
On December 2, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Ben Knapen within the framework of the 28th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm.
The sides exchanged views on the agenda of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands, as well as regional security issues.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his counterpart on the post-conflict situation in the region and recent developments. He stressed the importance of the implementation of trilateral statements, the opening of communication ties in the region, normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the basis of norms and principles of international law, and starting of delimitation negotiations.
Minister informed his counterpart that Azerbaijan supports the settlement of issues related to the establishment of bilateral relations with Armenia through dialogue.
Nazir beynəlxalq ictimaiyyət tərəfindən Ermənistan və Azərbaycan arasında normallaşma səylərinə dəstək verilməsinin vacibliyini vurğulayaraq, birtərəfli və qərəzli yanaşmaların bu səylərə töhfə vermədiyini bildirmiş xarici ölkələrin ictimaiyyəti, o cümlədən qanunverici strukturlarının regiondakı münaqişədən sonrakı normallaşma prosesi kontekstində maraq doğuran məsələlər barəsində hərtərəfli və dolğun məlumatlandırılmasının zəruriliyini diqqətə çatdırıb.
Stressing the importance of the support of the international community for the efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Minister noted that unilateral and biased approaches do not contribute to these efforts, and stressed the need for comprehensive and complete informing of the public, including the legislative structures of foreign countries, on issues of interest in the context of the post-conflict normalization process in the region.
