No:482/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organization Ergüc Kalantarli

On 22 December 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Arguj Kalantarli.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Arguj Kalantarli on his election as Secretary General of the Organization, noting that for the first time a representative of Azerbaijan was elected to this position during the 3rd extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the International Civil Defence Organization held in Baku this year. He emphasized that this election is an indicator of Azerbaijan’s growing international standing and its increasing role in the field of civil defence.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on strengthening international cooperation in the field of civil defence, combating natural and man-made disasters, as well as prospects for cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of humanitarian assistance.
During the meeting, the Secretary General provided detailed information on the activities, priority areas, and future plans of the Organization.
