On December 2, 2021, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov attended the 38th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the GUAM member states within the framework of his participation in the 28th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm.

Speaking at the meeting chaired by Georgia, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his colleagues on cooperation with GUAM member states in the context of a pandemic, the implementation of projects within GUAM in various areas, as well as the post-war situation in the region.

The following key points were voiced in the speech:

It is important to develop cooperation within GUAM in various areas, including free trade zone, consular issues, transport and trade. Azerbaijan views the GUAM Transport Corridor project as a key element of transport and trade between East and West and supports its implementation.

Within GUAM, the parliamentary dimension is an important part of the cooperation, and it is important to expand cooperation between parliamentarians of member countries.

With the end of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, a new reality has emerged in the South Caucasus region. It is important to fully implement the trilateral statements signed at this stage. We believe that the restoration of transport in accordance with these statements will play a positive role in ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region and will significantly increase trade and transport in the region for the benefit of all our partners.

Large-scale restoration and reconstruction work is being carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. As a result of this work, Azerbaijani IDPs will return home in safety and dignity.

At the end of the 38th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the GUAM member states a Joint Protocol was signed.
