On 5 November 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Magdalena Grono.

 

During the meeting, the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-European Union (EU) cooperation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, as well as regional and international issues were discussed.

 

Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU in political, economic, transport, energy security and other areas were reviewed. The importance of negotiations on cooperation platforms and instruments between Azerbaijan and the European Union was brought to attention.

 

It was noted with satisfaction that high-level contacts between the two sides and dialogues held in recent months are progressing positively, and the importance of continuing efforts in this direction was emphasized.

 

The Special Representative expressed the European Union’s readiness to support the achievements reached within the framework of the Washington Summit.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, informed the other side about the progress achieved and prospects regarding the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization and peace process, and conveyed our country’s position to the other side.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
