No:402/25, Press release on the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan from Syria

As a result of phased and coordinated measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on 22 October 2025, the repatriation of 6 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2 women and 4 children) from the Syrian Arab Republic to our country was carried out.
First, the location, identity, and citizenship of the repatriates of the Republic of Azerbaijan were established.
Representatives of the relevant state authorities responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens were sent to Syria, and the initial medical and psychological examination of the repatriates was ensured.
It is planned to implement relevant measures for the social rehabilitation and reintegration of the repatriates into society.
During the visit, a number of meetings were also held with the relevant state authorities of Syria regarding the repatriation of our citizens.
The implementation of necessary measures for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have become victims of armed conflicts in the territories of foreign countries will be continued.
