No:399/25, Press release on the participation of Deputy Minister Yalchin Rafiyev in the European Union special high-level meeting on “Interregional security and connectivity”

On 20 October 2025, a special high-level meeting on “Interregional security and connectivity” was organized in Luxembourg by the European Union.
Within the framework of the meeting, sessions were held on security, stability and resilience in the Black Sea region, as well as the interregional connectivity agenda.
The meeting was attended by the High Representative of the European Union Kaja Kallas, Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of member states, as well as high-level officials from the Eastern Partnership, Türkiye and Central Asian countries.
At the meeting, the Republic of Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev.
Deputy Minister Y.Rafiyev conveyed the position of our country on the issues discussed, emphasizing the importance of establishing peace and security in the wider Black Sea region, including Azerbaijan, in order to unlock the development potential of this region, as well as the significance of the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia in this regard.
It was noted that Azerbaijan, located on important transport corridors connecting the Black Sea region with the South Caucasus and Central Asia, is a reliable partner for the European Union in the fields of transport, energy and digital connectivity, and that strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU in this direction will enable more efficient use of the existing potential.
