No:347/25, Press release on the participation of Deputy Minister Yalchin Rafiyev in the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

On 25 August 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Yalchin Rafiyev, participated and delivered a speech at the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in the city of Jeddah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the session, it was noted that the ongoing military tension and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza region remain a source of concern, and the importance of taking urgent and decisive steps to put an end to this situation was emphasized.
In Yalchin Rafiyev’s speech, the importance of achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza region and creating conditions for the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the region was emphasized.
It was once again brought to attention that Azerbaijan supports the resolution of the conflict on the basis of the “two-state” principle, in accordance with the norms and principles of international law and the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.
It was noted that Azerbaijan, as an active member of the OIC, is ready to support the resolution of the Palestine–Israel conflict through diplomatic means. At the same time, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan’s assistance aimed at alleviating the humanitarian situation of the Palestinian people will continue in the future.
