No:347/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ihab Talaat Nasr
On July 26, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received a delegation led by Ihab Talaat Nasr, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt for European Affairs.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov greeted the guest and emphasized the development of bilateral relations based on the historical ties between the two nations. Speaking with satisfaction about the level of political dialogue between the two countries, the Minister said that regular political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, as well as reciprocal visits, contributed to the development of relations. Minister noted the development of bilateral relations in many directions and in this regard referred to the activity of the Joint Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Minister also noted the cooperation between our countries at the international level, and in this regard, successful activities within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement were mentioned. The participation of the Egyptian delegation in the Youth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement currently held in Baku was noted with satisfaction.
Assistant Minister Ihab Talaat Nasr said that his third visit to Azerbaijan has taken place and noted with satisfaction the development in the country. He emphasized that Egypt attaches importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan. The importance of maintaining the intensity of the current political dialogue and bilateral contacts was noted.
At the meeting, it was also emphasized that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt was celebrated this year, and mutual congratulations were expressed in this regard.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave detailed information to the opposite side about the post-conflict situation in the region, issues related to the implementation of trilateral statements, and large-scale works carried out by Azerbaijan regarding the reconstruction of the liberated territories.
The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The delegation from the Azerbaijani side was headed by Fariz Rzayev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and from the Egyptian side - by Ihab Talaat Nasr, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European affairs. Within the framework of political consultations, discussions were held on various spheres of cooperation.
