On 3 July 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of State for Political Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Lana Zaki Anwar Zaki Nusseibeh, within the framework of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in the city of Khankendi.
During the meeting, it was noted that the close friendship and brotherly relations between the heads of state of Azerbaijan and the UAE have created a solid foundation for the development of bilateral ties, and the role of the political consultations mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries in further advancing the strategic partnership was emphasized.
Satisfaction was expressed with cooperation in economic, trade, investment, energy, and humanitarian fields, as well as mutually beneficial engagement within international organizations and platforms such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
The successful joint projects in the field of alternative energy were highlighted, and the results achieved in this area were highly appreciated.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information to the other side on the reconstruction and restoration work carried out in the territories liberated from occupation, the return of formerly internally displaced persons to their homelands, and the serious threat posed by landmines to these processes.
The support provided by the UAE for humanitarian demining and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan was highly appreciated.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
