On 3 July 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, within the framework of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in the city of Khankendi.
During the meeting, the current state of the Azerbaijan–Pakistan strategic partnership and opportunities for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed.
It was emphasized that the growing dynamics of mutual visits at the high and highest levels in recent times, as well as the intensity of political dialogue, have played a significant role in elevating bilateral relations to a qualitatively new stage and further enriching them.
The importance of deepening cooperation in economic relations, trade, investment, energy security, transport, and other promising areas was highlighted.
Views were exchanged on regional developments, challenges, and opportunities, and it was noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan and Pakistan consistently support each other’s legitimate interests both in bilateral and regional formats, expressing confidence that mutually beneficial cooperation will continue in the interests of the states and peoples of both countries.
The ministers also held an extensive exchange of views on initiatives within the framework of Pakistan’s presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the month of July.
The meeting also addressed other bilateral and international issues of mutual interest.
