No:270/20, Commentary by Leyla Abdullayeva, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia regarding the speech of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the UN General Assembly
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in his speech at the general debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, clearly and with concrete facts brought to the attention of the world community the failed policy of Armenia and its current leadership. The Armenian Foreign Ministry, with its pathetic statement, cannot deny the truths voiced by the President of Azerbaijan.
At present, Armenia is a country that is facing a deep demographic, social and economic crisis, and the main reason for this is the country's policy of aggression against Azerbaijan. Despite the regime change in Armenia two years ago, the current government continues the policy of the previous criminal junta. In Armenia, where human rights are widely violated, judges are subjected to pressure, opposition activists and political opponents are arrested, a dictatorship has been established. The government, which declares that it has received the mandate of its people, is far from ensuring the interests of this people.
If the hands of the previous president of Armenia are stained with the blood of people killed during the war started against Azerbaijan, especially women, children and elderly people brutally killed in Khojaly, the blood of the 76-year-old man who was killed on July 14 of this year in Tovuz region is on the conscience of the current leadership of Armenia.
Lie, fraud, hypocrisy, provocation and, finally, war crimes - these are the main features that characterize the current leadership of Armenia. The absurd statement of the Foreign Ministry of the country, led by a man who failed to fulfill any of the promises he made to his people when he came to power, dragged the country into decline, and went bankrupt as a political leader and prime minister, about the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who pursues an independent and successful policy on the basis of the national interests of the people and has a world-class reputation, can only be laughed at. We understand that Armenia, which is jealously watching the development, achievements and progress of Azerbaijan, has no choice but to make such preposterous statements.
The current leadership of Armenia declaring that it came to power on the basis of the mandate of its people, for getting these people out of the crisis, instead of engaging in verbosity must take concrete action, first of all give up territorial claims to neighboring countries, end the policy of aggression and respect the international borders of neighboring states. Otherwise, the Armenian people will be deprived of development prospects.
