No:256/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Dimitar Glavchev

On 11 June 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Dimitar Glavchev, within the framework of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin.

 

During the meeting, the sides emphasized that they attach importance to the development of bilateral relations based on strategic partnership and that efforts will be increased to further strengthen the partnership in various directions, particularly in the fields of energy, agriculture, tourism, transport, infrastructure, innovations and mutual investments.

 

It was noted that the transmission of Azerbaijani natural gas to Bulgaria through the Bulgaria–Greece Interconnector within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor, the growing cooperation in the energy sector including green energy, as well as joint efforts within the framework of the “Solidarity Ring” make a significant contribution to relations.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that political consultations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are important for maintaining a continuous political dialogue.

 

The Minister also informed his counterpart about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the territories liberated from occupation.

 

During the meeting, the sides stated that intensifying the political dialogue between the two countries is important for identifying new promising areas of cooperation and that strengthening cooperation within international organizations, including in the field of inter-parliamentary cooperation, is of significance.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest, as well as regional matters.
