On 20 June 2025, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
During the telephone conversation, the existing security situation resulting from the Israel-Iran confrontation was discussed.
The sides expressed serious concern over the security situation in the region resulting from the Israel-Iran confrontation and emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic means. The important role played by Azerbaijan in the evacuation of foreign citizens from Iran, including citizens of EU member states, was appreciated.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
