No: 229/25, Press release on consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro

On 3 June 2025, consular consultations were held in the city of Baku between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro.
At the consular consultations, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by the Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emil Safarov, and the Montenegrin delegation was headed by the Director General for Consular Affairs and Cooperation with the Diaspora of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Ivana Dukanović.
During the consultations, the current state and prospects of relations between the two countries in the consular field, as well as the possibilities for expanding the bilateral legal and contractual framework in this area, were discussed.
In addition, issues related to expanding cooperation in the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro were addressed, an exchange of views was held on sharing best practices in the application of digital services and processes in the consular field, as well as on the visa policies of both countries.
A number of proposals were discussed to develop cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Montenegro in areas such as legal assistance, labor, social protection, tourism and others, and agreement was expressed on taking the necessary measures to expand relations in the relevant directions.
