Question: The individual who won this year’s elections in Taiwan, Lai Ching-te, has assumed office. What is the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the elections held in Taiwan and the assumption of office by the head of the Taiwan administration?
Answer: As stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dated 13 January of the current year, the Republic of Azerbaijan supports the “One China” policy and our country does not recognize the independence of Taiwan.
