Question: Lai Ching-te, who won this year’s elections in Taiwan, has taken office. What is the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the elections in Taiwan and the inauguration of the head of the Taiwanese administration?
Answer: As noted in the Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 13 January of this year, the Republic of Azerbaijan supports the “One China” policy, and our country does not recognize the independence of Taiwan.
