No:212/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of the Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Carlos França
On May 5, 2022, within the framework of his visit to Latin America, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos França.
At the meeting, the level of political dialogue between the two countries was highly valued, and the importance of holding the third round of political consultations between the two countries was noted. The sides discussed the existing opportunities for expanding cooperation in various fields, including agriculture, energy, culture and humanitarian spheres, stressed the importance of joint events to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.
Deputy Minister E.Mammadov briefed the opposite side on the new political realities in the region after the Patriotic war, the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories, about the large-scale projects implemented by Azerbaijan, and the growing importance of international transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil within international organizations, as well as regional and international security issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Simas Magalhães and the President of the Brazil-Azerbaijan Friendship Group in the Brazilian Congress, MP Claudio Cajado.
