On 4 May 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, during his working visit to the Republic of The Gambia.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Morocco.
Speaking about the existing cooperation agenda, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that there is considerable potential to expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and Morocco in the fields of trade, energy, education, inter-parliamentary relations, and other areas.
He also emphasized that contacts within multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), as well as mutual support for each other’s positions within these platforms, play an important role in bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the ministers signed an agreement on visa-free travel for holders of ordinary passports between the two countries.
