On 29 April 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom Stephen Doughty.
During the telephone conversation, views were exchanged on issues on the agenda between the two countries, bilateral and regional cooperation topics, as well as regional and international security matters.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the counterpart about the situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as the mine threat.
Touching upon the normalization agenda with Armenia, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the progress achieved in the negotiations on the peace agreement initiated by the Azerbaijani side and the main obstacles to the successful conclusion of this process. He emphasized that the renunciation of territorial claims against Azerbaijan enshrined in Armenia’s Constitution and other legislative acts is of exceptional importance for achieving sustainable peace in the South Caucasus.
During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
