No:161/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang

On 21 April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang.
The meeting discussed the existing bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, as well as the regional and international situation.
The importance of mutual visits and contacts, including the mechanism of political consultations, in maintaining and developing the existing political dialogue between our countries was noted.
It was brought to attention that there are broad prospects for the development of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy security, agriculture, humanitarian affairs, tourism, education, and others. The importance of utilizing the existing opportunities, as well as the activities of the Azerbaijan–Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on economic, trade, scientific, and technical cooperation in this direction was noted.
Issues of cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the UN, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), and ASEAN were discussed.
During the meeting, the importance of the historic decisions adopted during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also provided detailed information to the other side about the situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale reconstruction and restoration work carried out in the liberated territories, efforts to combat the mine threat, as well as the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The political consultations were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov from the Azerbaijani side and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang from the Vietnamese side.
