On March 31, 2022, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah bin Faisal Al Saud.
The Ministers expressed mutual congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and wished that this month would be favorable for the entire Muslim world.
The sides exchanged views on the development of cooperation and fraternal relations between the two countries and expressed satisfaction in this regard.
The Ministers agreed on joint projects currently being implemented between the two countries, and expressed satisfaction with the results of the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission held in December last year. It was stressed that there is potential for further development of economic and investment ties.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted with satisfaction the “ACWA Power” project of Saudi Arabia to build a wind power station in Azerbaijan and briefed his counterpart on Azerbaijan's great potential in terms of alternative energy.
The sides also discussed issues of cooperation and mutual support within international organizations.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted with gratitude the support provided by Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan's just position, based on international law, in connection with the past conflict.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov invited his Saudi counterpart to visit Azerbaijan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah bin Faisal Al Saud thanked for the invitation and accepted the invitation with pleasure.
During the telephone conversation, the Ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
