No:149/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso Jean Marie Traoré

On 12 April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, Jean Marie Traoré, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and issues of partnership within the framework of multilateral platforms were discussed.
The importance attached to the African continent in our country’s foreign policy was noted, and it was stated that our chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement has given significant impetus to our contacts with African countries.
It was expressed that we intend to continue cooperation with African countries, including Burkina Faso, within the framework of international organizations.
The other side was also informed about scholarship programs created by our country for students from foreign countries, and in particular the existence of special programs for students from member states of the Non-Aligned Movement was noted.
The other side congratulated Azerbaijan on its successful chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
