On 9 April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Mihov.
During the meeting, political, economic, trade, energy and humanitarian aspects of Azerbaijan-Moldova cooperation, prospects for the development of relations, as well as regional and international issues were discussed.
Recalling with satisfaction his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the importance of such contacts, including the mechanism of political consultations, in the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The importance of expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation was noted, and in particular the importance of utilizing the prospects for the development of partnership in the field of energy security was emphasized.
The importance of the role of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Moldova in discussing opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment was highlighted.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Moldova. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister Samir Sharifov from the Azerbaijani side and by State Secretary Sergiu Mihov from the Moldovan side.
