No:129/26, Press release on the telephone conversation of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Mauro Vieira

On 23 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, made a phone call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the phone call, issues of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil, interaction within multilateral platforms, as well as the security situation in the Middle East were discussed.
The sides reviewed the activities of the Azerbaijan–Brazil Working Group on Trade and Investments and the opportunities for further expanding cooperation within its framework. At the same time, cooperation on the climate agenda, as well as issues of joint coordination within the framework of COP29 and COP30 were discussed.
The Ministers expressed their serious concern over the ongoing war in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of preventing further escalation of the situation. They noted the importance of resolving conflicts on the basis of the norms and principles of international law, through dialogue and diplomatic means.
The Brazilian side expressed its solidarity with our country regarding the drone attack carried out from the territory of Iran against Azerbaijan.
The Brazilian Minister also expressed his deep gratitude to our country for the support provided in the evacuation of its citizens and diplomats from Iran under the current security situation.
The Ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
