On 19 March 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Lammy.
During the phone call, issues of cooperation between the two countries, the current regional situation, as well as the current state of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed.
The British Minister conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of Novruz holiday. Confidence was expressed that relations between the two countries will further develop.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information on the current situation in the region and the peace process, noting that despite the conclusion of negotiations on the text of the peace agreement, it is important to introduce relevant amendments to the Constitution of Armenia in order to eliminate territorial claims against our country as a condition for signing the agreement. At the same time, the importance of the dissolution of the no longer relevant OSCE Minsk Group and other related structures was brought to attention.
The Ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
